Over the past few weeks I have been to and from the Tuihana Cafe to photograph (and eat) their entire menu. 26 dishes over a 4 week period is a lot of food, luckily I was able to bring Liv along to share the load!
I’m usually a very fussy eater and tend to veer away from things that are a little different however being able to try everything on a menu has certainly opened my taste buds to some new dishes! Kiwis certainly know how to cook good food – there wasn’t a meal I didn’t enjoy, everything was incredible! The owners, Nate and Leslie, have put together the perfect Kiwi menu! If you haven’t been already, get down and check it out! (114 Dominion Road, Auckland)
In terms of the photography (this is a photography blog after all) – I like to keep it as natural as I can with food, I can’t be doing with all that touched up stuff! I kept it nice and bright by using the natural light and shooting between 1.8 and 2.8. Check out some of the shots…. just looking at them is making me hungry again!
Yes I ate ALL of this… You can’t really complain when it’s your job to go out and eat amazing food! Here are a couple of BTS shots from Nate and myself.
