Hobbiton Movie Set Photography

The Return of the Hobbit!

Last week I returned to the Hobbiton Movie Set to shoot some more promo/marketing photos. No matter how many times I go back, it never gets old! Like I’ve said so many times before, I could shoot at Hobbiton forever!

Over the past week the world has been going Hobbit mad with the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Having watched the film, I think it’s safe to say that Peter Jackson has ended his saga on a truly epic finale! A fitting farewell to Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves and Orcs! Despite there being no more movies, Middle Earth will continue to live on through the amazing landscape of New Zealand.

I am lucky enough to live in Middle Earth (and have Hobbiton practically on my doorstep) but I will certainly miss seeing it at the cinema.

Here are a few shots from my time on the Hobbiton Set last week, I look forward to going back in February!

  1. Hi Shaun,
I’d like to discuss with you the possibility of working on a feature on NZ particularly on Hobbiton for our October issue. Please contact me if this is of interest.
