My first NZ Billboard: SKYCITY Auckland

Last week my first billboard went up in Auckland – a very proud moment for Shaun Jeffers Photography! I thought that this would be a good opportunity to explain my work process when I am on a job for a client. I’ve been working with SKYCITY for just over a year now so when they brought me onboard for this project I wanted to do something a little different. Luckily enough the advertising agency, Colenso BBDO had the same idea – they wanted something that had never been seen before, something that was going to make people stop and look. …

Vodafone Warriors in Ice

With winter upon us, why not bust out the ice sculptures! Tonight SKYCITY brought together the ‘Fire and Ice’ gaming promotion with the Vodafone Warriors and put on an awesome little event. I headed in to get some shots of the players trying their hand at ice sculpting… Nice work guys! I really didn’t think I’d be photographing ice sculpting in Auckland! It was 12 degrees today, thats warm for the middle of winter! Funnily enough, ice carving photography is something I have quite a bit of experience in – I use to photograph carvings during the Christmas period back in the …

The German Sky Tower: World Cup Champions 2014

Congratulations to Germany, 2014 World Cup winners! Can’t say I watched much of the World Cup but I did see the Germany V Brazil game and from that Germany definitely deserved to win! SKYCITY Auckland celebrated the win by lighting the Sky Tower the colours of the German flag – I headed out to get some official shots. Check out the rest of my website to see more Auckland Photography.

Poppy Projecting: Sky Tower Anzac Lighting…. and the Auckland Museum

‘Lest We Forget’ This week the Sky Tower is wearing a 13-metre poppy to commemorate Anzac Day. To all those reading around the world, Anzac Day is the national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand commemorating all the Australians and New Zealanders who have served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. As usual I headed over to get few shots – this time it was a little different as I had to shoot from the opposite side of the city. Experimenting with different locations wasn’t without it’s risks, I was almost run over… twice! I …

Earth Hour Auckland

Earth Hour in Auckland

Auckland’s skyline looked a bit different last night as the Sky Tower switched off it’s lights for Earth Hour. The lights were off for one hour as it became one of the first major monuments to ‘go dark’ in the world. Earth Hour is an annual event coordinated by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to raise awareness of climate change and other environmental causes. As usual I was out for SKY CITY getting a few shots! Check them out! Before:After:   Head on over to Auckland Photographer for more PR, commercial and event photography.
