My first NZ Billboard: SKYCITY Auckland

Last week my first billboard went up in Auckland – a very proud moment for Shaun Jeffers Photography! I thought that this would be a good opportunity to explain my work process when I am on a job for a client. I’ve been working with SKYCITY for just over a year now so when they brought me onboard for this project I wanted to do something a little different. Luckily enough the advertising agency, Colenso BBDO had the same idea – they wanted something that had never been seen before, something that was going to make people stop and look. …

Another year over… Bring on 2015!

What another incredible year! I’ve been back to the South Island, spent time back home and visited New York! This time last year I was struggling to break into the Auckland photography scene – 1 year on and I have some of the best clients I’ve ever had! This year my photography took a turn as I focused more on landscapes and stock images! I still shoot my usual portraits and events but I’m enjoying experimenting in new areas of photography. Hobbiton Movie Set Photography

The Return of the Hobbit!

Last week I returned to the Hobbiton Movie Set to shoot some more promo/marketing photos. No matter how many times I go back, it never gets old! Like I’ve said so many times before, I could shoot at Hobbiton forever! Over the past week the world has been going Hobbit mad with the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Having watched the film, I think it’s safe to say that Peter Jackson has ended his saga on a truly epic finale! A fitting farewell to Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves and Orcs! Despite there being no more movies, Middle Earth will continue …

Tuihana Food Photography

Tuihana Cafe: An entire menu for two!

Over the past few weeks I have been to and from the Tuihana Cafe to photograph (and eat) their entire menu. 26 dishes over a 4 week period is a lot of food, luckily I was able to bring Liv along to share the load! I’m usually a very fussy eater and tend to veer away from things that are a little different however being able to try everything on a menu has certainly opened my taste buds to some new dishes! Kiwis certainly know how to cook good food – there wasn’t a meal I didn’t enjoy, everything was …
